Apology Poem

Here's another prompt that asked me to write an apology poem, like William Carlos Williams' famous poem about the plums.

This Is Just To Say
by William Carlos Williams

I have eaten
the plums
that were in
the icebox

and which
you were probably
saving
for breakfast

Forgive me
they were delicious
so sweet
and so cold

So here's mine:

Late

I know the golden minutes
of my son’s education
must be cherished

And 10 minutes
past the bell
is unacceptable.

But surely the
school board doesn’t want
mommies at work without pants.
